I'm in! I just ordered the book that was recommended. (it's entirely too easy to shop on Amazon- I end up doing a lot of impulse buying there, but I don't think I'll regret this) Thanks for sharing this great idea. I needed something like this for my kids.
Handbook of Nature Study is one of the books that made it into my, "I can't homeschool without this book" box. Many of my books are in storage until we find a permanent home, but not this one!
What a neat idea - I'm in even though it will have to be nature study for a 16 month old ... a great way to make sure we actively do enjoy the outdoors! Gypsy http://domesticallyblissed.wordpress.com
Thank you so much for sharing that...I think that souls travel together, even in blogland. I have been gathering supplies for nature study and was not sure how to start the whole process. Then, this post...wow. Love your blog and it is so crazy cool to be able to communicate so many miles apart.
I checked out that book a week or two ago when I saw that link - very interesting. We went through much of it today to pick what we wanted to learn more about. The boys are excited!
Ladies- Hi! I'm so happy you are all so interested in this. I think it should be a snap for us seeing as we are all pretty mindful of how much "nature time" our kids are getting anyway. I don't think it matters how old your kids are either as I found exercise #1 very interesting in just observing the kids interacting with world around them. It's so much fun! Xxx
Hello. This post is likeable, and your blog is very interesting, congratulations :-). I will add in my blogroll =). If possible gives a last there on my blog, it is about the Webcam, I hope you enjoy. The address is http://webcam-brasil.blogspot.com. A hug.
Poppy is 3 & you know her from her first blog "Poppy! The Japanese Styled Ozzy Child." Well now there is her little sister Mei & she's 1 & styled in the very same way.
Where we used to live: Japan. We were there for 10 years (Mumma) & 13 years (Lala). Where we are from: Lala & Mumma are from Australia. We were born in Japan & although we don't have Japanese passports, Japan is all we've ever known so we figure we are Japanese. Where we are now: We have just arrived back in OZ. Mumma & Lala want us to grow up surrounded by our family & now that we are on the scene, Mumma "wants her Mum!" even more!
Brilliant No Matter How You Choose To Educate Your Kids...
This is from the Always Unschooled yahoo group.
"Radical unschooling is Not about Raising kids. Its about living with our children Right Now. Our children are not unfinished products, future activists or stooges to The Man, our kids are Who They Are right now. That's where unschooling happens. If you are thinking in terms of Raising your children you aren't looking at the human beings living in your home, you are looking at future adults - and those are pure imagination on your part. Is it possible to live with our kids Right Now *and* hold the whole world in our minds at the same time? Yes. Its challenging, but its possible."
A family is a place where minds come in contact with one another. If these minds love one another the home will be as beautiful as a flower garden. - Buddha

I love this idea! Sophie is young but we could do most of that in our own way. Count us in! Thanks for sharing.
